Family founded in 2009 by Durham Brands, Gimme Beauty is a leading distributor of hair tools and accessories across the United States. They are on a mission to lift women and unlock potential. They are passionate about personalized hair care equating to confidence, thus, their range of products works for all hair types. Gimme Beauty distributes their products, which include hair ties, hair clips, brushes, combs and more, to a variety of retailers including Walmart, CVS, Ulta, Target, Walgreens, Meijer, and Publix.

Gimme Beauty continues to expand their presence in the market, with 5-year average year-over-year revenue growth of >60%. They are forecasted to reach a revenue target of $50M within the next few years. The company is a tight-knit community of ~30 employees and growing.

In March 2024, Bain & Company recognized Gimme Beauty as part of their annual Insurgent Brands list, which provides insight into where innovative and disruptive growth is occurring in consumer goods brands. Gimme Beauty was highlighted for outperforming their tracked categories by 10x against similar competitors.

The Role

The Sales Leader will be responsible for leading Gimme Beauty’s sales strategy to drive profitable growth. This includes leading the sales account managers that handle major retail accounts, developing foundational sales process, working cross-functionally with product development, marketing and operations to ensure sales opportunities are supported and won, and working in close partnership with the Chief Revenue Officer (CRO).

Experience & Requirements

The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in consumer packaged goods (CPG) sales, preferably in the health and beauty space, and will be adept at developing and executing strategy and process.

• Minimum of 5 years sales experience and 2 years of people leadership experience.
• Proven experience selling into major retail chains (e.g., Target, Walmart, Walgreens, CVS, Ulta), with a deep understanding of retail dynamics, buyer expectations, and merchandising. Familiarity with the retailer line review process and building customer proposals.
• Demonstrated success in leading and motivating a sales team, with excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Experience developing and evolving the sales process to provide clarity of ownership and reduce errors.
• Experience analyzing data, forecasting sales, and adjusting strategies to drive performance. Experience with retail data tools (e.g., Nielsen, IRI) preferred.
• Strong relationship management skills with the ability to influence key internal and external stakeholders.
• Experience working cross-functionally including with operations, marketing, product development, etc.
• Excellent communication skills, including written, verbal and presentation skills; comfortable and credible with both internal stakeholders and external audiences.
• Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment while managing competing priorities and deadlines.
• A flexible, dynamic, self-reliant and proactive leader with a player-coach mentality; comfortable stepping in and rolling-up his / her sleeves when necessary.
• A “builder” with the ability to motivate him/herself and others; a natural bias for action and capable of dealing with ambiguity.
