The company has a large global footprint and has a presence in most major US retailers. With ~$450M in revenue, ZAGG has three main business units and four global brands; Protection (phone cases, screen protectors), Power (wireless chargers, battery packs) and Keyboards. ZAGG currently operates one internal distribution center with 90% of their products being manufactured out of China or Vietnam.
The Role
ZAGG is seeking a dynamic Vice President of Information & Technology Services (VP of Technology) to lead and shape the company’s global technological strategy. This executive role is responsible for developing and executing a technology roadmap that drives innovation, enhances operational efficiency, and supports the company’s overall business goals. The VP of Technology will oversee all IT operations, from infrastructure management to the implementation of cybersecurity measures, ensuring systems are secure, compliant, and scalable. A key part of the role is fostering collaboration across departments and working closely with executive leadership to integrate technological solutions that align with business strategies. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of IT governance, infrastructure planning, and emerging technologies, along with strong leadership and communication skills to guide a growing team and drive digital transformation initiatives across the organization. The role reports to the COO, leads a team of ~20 and will be located in Midvale, UT.
Experience & Requirements
• At least fifteen years of professional experience in IT related function within high performing organizations
• Exposure to investor-backed environments is preferred
• Demonstrated ability to envision, architect, and build technology solutions that meet business objectives
• Demonstrated ability to develop and execute an IT roadmap to transition from proprietary, legacy systems to native apps and web solutions. Experience overseeing a database remodeling would be a plus
• Experience leading large, cross-functional development projects and teams; Ability to drive structure and communicate real-time deadlines and data-driven decisions
• Experience developing and maintaining back-end systems that integrate with embedded software
• Knowledge of information security vulnerabilities, user privacy protocols, risk management, and compliance
• Knowledge of IT infrastructure for a company of appropriate scale, including but not limited to: user applications; database administration; telecommunications; helpdesk and user support; data security; and hardware, storage, redundancy, and disaster recovery
• Mature understanding of the role of people, processes, and systems necessary for sustained success in delivery of IT services in a growth environment
• Experienced forecasting, budgeting, and leading quarterly and annual business planning processes
• Excellent at managing external vendors and resources; able to drive accountability on performance and drive KPIs, make vs buy decisions etc.
• In-depth knowledge of high-performing ecommerce functions (exposure to Shopify highly desired)
• A team-leader able to recruit, retain and motivate high performing talent
• A flexible, even-keeled, dynamic, self-demanding and proactive individual; a natural bias for action and ability to deal with ambiguity
• Able to travel weekly (targeting minimum 4 days per week) to Midvale, UT if not already located in Salt Lake City, UT
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
• MBA strongly preferred
