Meteor accomplishes this through its design, supply chain, and installation capabilities, coupled with services like teacher training. With a national presence, Meteor employs ~300 people, generates ~$200 million in annual revenue, and is headquartered in Gainesville, FL.

The Role

To support Meteor’s continued growth and to leverage their increasing national scale, Meteor Education seeks to hire a VP of Supply Chain. The VP will build out the company’s end-to-end supply chain capabilities, with a focus on strategic sourcing, procurement, and vendor management. The VP will develop and optimize Meteor’s supply chain while ensuring excellent product quality, strong customer service, and the lowest supply chain cost. The VP will report to the CEO, and may be based anywhere in the U.S.

Experience & Requirements

• Supply chain leadership with expertise in strategic sourcing, procurement, and vendor management. Additional experience in planning, inventory management, and logistics.
• Prior success developing a company’s supply chain capabilities to enable growth, with results across cost, quality, and service.
• Track record of year-over-year delivery of value from strategic sourcing and procurement activities including negotiation, contracting, and spend management.
• Experience scaling through a variety of growth levers (i.e. M&A, geographic expansion, new product introduction).
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain internal relationships in a distributed environment with all levels of the organization to institutionalize the supply chain function.
• Strong external relationship building and management with suppliers.
• Demonstrated ability to recruit, retain, manage, and develop top talent; a natural mentor, consensus builder, and change agent.
• Able to achieve or exceed performance results through effective team and individual performance, setting clear goals, and managing accountability.
• Experience with a diverse set of procurement tools surrounding the procure-to-pay, contract management, and supplier performance management processes.
• Experience with spend analytics, e-sourcing, and contract management systems.
• Strong financial, quantitative, and analytical skills. Data-driven and results-driven.
• Negotiation skills consistent with executive level management and an understanding of contractual negotiation.
• Strong communication skills, including written, verbal, and presentation skills; comfortable and credible with internal stakeholders, customers, external audiences, and investors.
• A highly motivated, roll-up-your-sleeves leader; resourceful, entrepreneurial, and comfortable dealing with ambiguity. Thrives in a high-growth environment.
• An interest in the education space, Meteor’s mission, and the positive societal impacts associated.
